In June, The Orchard posted a job opening for Assistant Pastor of Pastoral Care, seeking to meet these specific needs in our congregation.  Through review and prayer, we are pleased to announce the addition of a part-time pastor to our staff.  Karyn Cartier has accepted the Session's call to serve as the Assistant Pastor of Pastoral Care.  Karyn is a recent graduate of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity.  She has been approved by the New Wineskins Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) to be ordained as a minister within our denomination.

The Assistant Pastor of Pastoral Care Job Description reviewed by the Personnel Committee and approved by the Session is summarized as: The function of the Pastoral Care Pastor is to coordinate the resources of Orchard Christian Fellowship so that people within our congregation are cared for in times of acute and chronic need.

An Assistant Pastor is called by the Session of an EPC congregation to fill a specific role in the life of the church.  Through much prayer and an interview process, the Session is confident that Karyn is God's provision for our congregation at this time to be our Assistant Pastor of Pastoral Care.  Her spiritual gifts and her passion for God's people are evident and abundant.

A date for an ordination service and reception is pending. Karyn will be joining The Orchard staff on September 1, 2010.  Please be lifting Karyn up in prayer as she begins this vital ministry in the life of our fellowship.
