Makeover Ministry FAQs

What is the Makeover Ministry?

  • The Makeover ministry believes that we are all called to: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' cf. Matthew 22
  • A ministry of caring, giving, and loving people assisting with the needs of families and people in need/crisis that live in our communities
  • Our first e-mail/request for donations went out in April 2006 and we are encouraged by the continued support and prayer of the now over 100 active volunteers that served in 2008
  • We serve an average of 4-6 families a week, plus quarterly events
    • Back to School Event (August)
    • Autumn Adoption party (November)
    • Christmas Angel Tree (December)
    • The May Foster Care Celebration Event (MAY)

What does the Makeover Ministry require of the individuals and families it serves?

  • Nothing

How does the Makeover Ministry know who to serve?

  • Social workers, helping agencies, caretakers, advocates or neighbors reach out to the makeover ministry to ask for assistance for families, women and children. If we have the request, we share it, if we don’t have the request we e-mail to our group and try and locate needed items
  • There are no special criteria or requirement the family has to meet to participate. These people greatly appreciate these items as they try to make a fresh start for themselves
  • Makeover Ministry members are NOT required to attend or be affiliated with Orchard Christian Fellowship
