THINK ORANGE - Thoughts on Family Ministry

Here’s a question for you....How would you describe your "family status"??

  • Are you currently parenting teens and young children??
  • Is the nest now empty…or has been for quite some time??
  • Maybe you don't consider yourself a "family" because you're a college student, young adult, or don't have children and/or a spouse?

We believe that by being a part of a church means the congregation IS your FAMILY.

And that no matter what your "family status" is….you can make a difference in the lives of our youth and children.

We believe it all begins with RELATIONSHIP, and it is our desire to see this concept fostered within our church family.

If you care about the spiritual welfare of the CHILDREN and YOUTH of our congregation AND the greater community of Londonderry and beyond, this message is for you, so please read on.

Imagine the difference it could make if every leader, every volunteer, every parent was on the same page, working toward the same end.....

What if we all believed our mission was simply to help kids see God for who He is and themselves the way God sees them, so they can love others the way God does.....

Imagine these children and students growing up with an AUTHENTIC faith that connects them to a better story for their life.....

With the ORANGE strategy, we will combine the two primary influences that impact a kid's life:

Orange synchronizes the LIGHT of the CHURCH (YELLOW) with the LOVE of the FAMILY (RED).......Orange connects PARENTS and LEADERS with the same strategy toward the same end goal.

In August we will be holding a meeting to talk to you about a way of doing Family Ministry that involves children, youth AND adults serving and learning TOGETHER!

As ministry leaders, we are passionate about seeing these kids grow in their faith, and we our desire is to PARTNER with parents, families and other adults to make this a greater reality in the lives of these children and youth.

Will you be a part of this endeavor?  Will you consider how God may be calling you to influence and mentor children and teens?  Each of you has the capacity to invest in these kids in some way....nothing you offer is insignificant!

Please, join us on August 22nd, 7pm @ the Robie House.....we'll be introducing the Orange Strategy.

Click here if you'd like a preview of what it's all about:  www.whatisorange.org

We'd appreciate knowing if you are planning to attend, so please email either of us.

As always, we welcome your questions.

We want you to understand this shift in ministry here at the Orchard.....because if you "get it", you are more likely to want to get involved!

Serving with you,

Children's Ministry

Nurturing the faith of your child is one of your most important roles as a parent. At the Orchard Christian Fellowship, we take this responsibility seriously and focus on providing a positive Christian environment for children. This page lists a variety of our children's ministries.

We offer child care for children 6 years old and younger during our morning worship services.

Our kind and caring volunteers have all completed criminal background checks.

KIDS' CHURCH

Age Groups:

Preschoolers & Kindergarteners join together for a time or playing, learning and snacking!

They are currently using BUZZ curriculum

Grades 1-3 gather together in the cafeteria to focus on missions and prayer, then a LARGE GROUP lesson followed by SMALL GROUP interaction.

This group uses Living Inside Out curriculum.

Grades 4 & 5 have their own small group time, called GRAPPLE.

This curriculum provides Biblically-based lessons which allows for candid thought and discussion focusing on issues relevant to pre-teens.

FriDAZE

4th and 5th graders are welcome to join us for their own "preteen" youth group at FriDAZE. These meetings include games, lessons, and snacks. They are led by Orchard Christian Fellowship teens with the guidance of parental volunteers.

Calling All 4th & 5th Graders.....
