Buenos dias from the dos hermanas, Susi and Katty

Contributed by Sue Quinn and Katty Luther

Our morning started out with Sandra  making a delicious breakfast, fried eggs, tomatoes and lettuce on toast.  Also fried plantaines with brown sugar, which is out of this world.  Every morning we had freshed squeezed juice, yummy..  We then headed off to meet our team, with Miguel, our fearless driver at the helm.  When we arrived at El Refugio, everyone went in different directions.  We girls, plus Dan and Jon, went to do worship with the girls. Naomi graced us with a beautiful rendition with her flute.  Then Jon did a smashing devotion about Psalm 1, using Dan as his visual aid.  It was enthusiastically received by the girls. We are so very appreciative to have Susi Grosser, John's hermana, who not only translates for us but helps us with all facits of Costa Rican life.  In the meantime, Dana and John continued their tedious work on the computersI, finally getting all but one onto the internet.

PRAISE GOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duncan and some of the local men, are still working on constructing the cistern, despite two cuts.  However, Florence N. Lindsey, our new team nurse took care of the problem.  After the worship time, we girls helped Karen get ready with more card prepping. Karen has outdone herself with all the time she has spent getting ready for this event.  She also gives credit to the Sassy Scrappers and the costureas, (seamstresses of Costa Rica) for coming along side her in this project.  Dan and Jon proceeded to do their favorite thing, SOCCER!  Guess who became world champs when asked to play the game?  You guessed it, Not over the hill yet, Susi and Katty.  Our team lost.  I wonder why?????????? We enjoyed yet another delicious lunch made by Carmen and Laverna.  I don't know how they feed all of us, plus the girls and workers.   After lunch, we girls walked to the clinic, inspite of the rain.  There we ministered to the women's Bible study. Katty shared of the pain she went through as a single Mom, with two teenage daughters who didn't know the Lord. The powerful way the Lord worked in their lives as she spent much time in prayer.was soon very evident.  The Lord was mightily present with all of us in that room, as several women shared how much her testimony touched them, especially one Mom who has two young daughters.  It really hit home with her.  Following that, the women made cards and were thrilled with the outcome.  Our fearless driver, Miguel, then picked us up, with the men in tow and headed back to Pavas with co-pilot Lindsey beeping the horn, at Dan's request.  We opted to do our debriefing time in the van, as our schedule was tight on our return.

Arriving in Pavas at 5:30,  we had to shower, with cold water, of course, have dinner and be back down the street where were showing  the movie, "Fire Proof" at 7:00. One by one, the exhausted team members straggled in,  There was a good showing, of people from the neighborhood. Our hostess, Sandra, her daughter and boyfriend attended the performance.  God is sooooo good!!  After the movie, Duncan shared the importance of inviting the Lord into our heart and offered prayer to any who wanted it.  The tired team hoofed it back to their host families for a good nights sleep, all except, Susi and Katty, who are still typing this blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We would like to thank all those back home who have helped with this trip, which wouldn't have been possible without your financial help, many different gifts, prayers, encouragement and countless hours of preperation.  May God Bless your obedience.
