An Amazing Journey -- Home from Costa Rica

By the time many of you read this,  all of us with the exception of John Grosser will be home in New Hampshire.  To say that this trip has been "amazing" goes without saying.  If their are any doubts just read all the previous blog entries.  It is hard to put into words what the Lord is doing here in this beautiful country. As a fitting finale our little band, travelled to the Arenal Volcano for a  little R&R before heading back to New Hampshire. This is where we had our final trip "debrief" session where everyone had a chance to reflect on the previous week.

The volcano was a little over three hours from San Jose.  The route travelled through a lush landscape past fields of sugar cane, coffee, yucca, and any number of flowers. We all had a chance to soak our bodies in hot springs and truly relax.  Last night we all hopped in the van driven by our trusty driver, Miguel and drove to the other side of the volcano to see if the mountain would grace us with its own verision of Independance Day fireworks. The lava glowed at the top and there was at least one flow that travelled down the entire side of the mountain.

In the morning Lindsey, myself, and Miguel took a "Canopy Tour" down multiple zip lines through the rain forest. We saw monkeys and varied wildlife  including a white hawk. He was perched on a branch and we zipped right down underneath him.

I am typing this at 4:00 AM as we are getting ready to go to the airport for our flight home. Our final night was spent at the same retreat house, known as the "bunker", where we spent our first night. On the way into San Jose we could see the lights of  La Caprio where so much is being done in the Lords name.
