Orchard Christian Fellowship

Arrival Day

We have finally arrived and received a very warm welcome from our hosts in this beautiful country.  The bible tells us to lift our voices in worship and praise.  We spent our first night  in the retreat house next door to the Iglesia Biblica Nazareth church.  What better way to wake up in the morning to the praise and worship band practice for their morning service.  Before leaving for La Carpio several of us sat in on several minutes of worship.  What a glorious start to an amazing day.
We participated in the church service in La Carpio.  John Grosser led the team in singing several Spanish language praise songs.  There was also an opportunity to share testimony in several small groups for Sunday School.  Duncan and Karen Phillips led a session for the adults.  Sue Quinn, Kathy Luther, and  Naomi Phillips described God´s love to a group of young people, including making small craft  butterflies   The rest of us took the teenagers, sharing testimony. One particular young man, Jeffrey, shared a very moving testimony on what it means for him to be a Christian in La Carpio.
In Pavas we met our host families, where we will be staying for the next several days. It will be a time to share this experience with other believers  --- one to be treasured.
There is so much more that transpired that it is hard to put it all in words. From the Salvation Skit we performed as  a team, to the object lesson from Jon Sperring.  We are all looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us tomorrow and in the coming week.
